Monastery of the Assumption of Virgin Mary in Zerma

According to a date rescued recorded in the monastery entrance, the building dates back to the 9th century (879). Two hundred years after its construction, it faced risks from landslides and was transferred in a close distance about 200 meters higher than the original site.

At the first time was built the monastery and then the stockyard with contributions  by the residents from the neighboring villages. The building of the monastery was completed in 1310.
