The geographical boundaries of the Municipality of Konitsa are dominated by the largest mountain masses in Greece, ravines, gorges, steep slopes, huge forests, rivers and lakes that make up a natural landscape of incomparable beauty as well as a rich flora and fauna. This represents a milestone as well as a challenge for Konitsa and our wider region, an ever-evolving tourist area. Ιts natural and cultural heritage, as well as the attraction exerted by our unspoiled natural landscape, is our motivation for planning a sustainable policy that promotes the development of “alternative ecotourism activities”.

Wild imposing mountains, huge dense forests, impressive gorges and steep slopes, fast-flowing rivers, enchanting alpine lakes, amazing paths, stone bridges, fertile valleys, rich vegetation, wild fauna in protected areas of the North Pindos National Park with the Vikos-Aoos Geopark (Vikos-Aoos National Forest), Natura 2000 Network areas, Dusko-Nemertsika mountain, Aoos-Voidomatis riverside forest, the straits of Sarantaporos, the famous Mastorochoria villages with their traditional settlements, a multitude of scattered religious monuments and monasteries on the slopes of the great mountains of Northern Pindos and between all these the picturesque town of Konitsa with the valley spreading out at the confluence of the rivers make up the diverse landscape of the Municipality of Konitsa.
